Transactions on Blockchain Technology and Applications

Special Issue on Advances in Blockchain and Internet-of-Things

Internet of Things (IoT) has been delivering a plethora of services across several sectors, from climate, intelligent transportation, smart cities and agricultures to vertical industries. Security and trust management is a major issue in the IoT system, which needs to be tackled before wide deployment and application of these IoT services. Blockchain is a promising technology to achieve the desired level of security and trustworthiness without depending on a centralized party in a trustless environment. This exactly fits into the basic feature and architecture of an IoT system. However, blockchain technology is still in its infancy, suffering from various issues, such as efficiency, availability, scalability, privacy, security and safety. These open research issues motivate us to explore and investigate advanced solutions for securing IoT. This special issue is devoted to the most recent developments and research outcomes addressing the related theoretical and practical aspects on blockchain in IoT, and aims to provide worldwide researchers and practitioners an ideal platform to innovate new solutions targeting at the corresponding key challenges.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
   • Blockchain based key management and access control
   • Blockchain based architecture and framework for IoT
   • Blockchain based solutions for IoT applications
   • Applications of blockchain in IoT
   • Distributed trust management
   • Anonymity and privacy solutions for blockchain in IoT
   • Threat and attack models for blockchain in IoT
   • Novel blockchain consensus mechanism in IoT

Submission Guidance:
All papers need to be submitted electronically through the website (http://vdlt.io/tCFP.html) with PDF format. Authors should select “Blockchain and Internet-of-Things” when they reach the “Article Type” step in the submission process.

Papers must be clearly presented in English, must be single-space, double-columned with fonts no smaller than 10, must not exceed 12 pages, including tables, figures, references and appendices. The Latex template can be found at http://vdlt.io/assets/images/TB/TBlockchainTemplate.zip. Papers will be selected based on their originality, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation assessed by at least three reviewers.
